Site-specific costs like batteries, installation labor or shipping are not included.

Turbine only – Option #1

The Scott Hydro Turbine is rated at 1500 watts output. For comparison, a non-electrically heated home in the USA consumes on average about 1000 watts continuously….well within the potential of a single Scott Turbine.

 $3900.00

Turbine with charge control for battery charging – Option #2

This is the basic control package for charging 12, 24, of 48 volt batteries in an off-grid power system. This includes the hydro turbine midnight classic charge control, disconnects, 3 phase rectifier, over current protection and lightning arrestor.

Shipped prewired and mounted on a 24″ x 24″ backboard.

 $5250.00

The complete off grid – Option #3

This is the basic control package for charging 12, 24 or 48 volt batteries in an off-grid power system. This includes the hydro turbine, midnight classic charge control, disconnects, 3 phase rectifier, over current protection and lighting arrestor, plus a Magnum 4000 watt Sinewave Inverter/Charger, and disconnect. This option provides conventional 120/240 VAC from batteries and charges batteries from a generator if required.

Prewired and mounted on a 36″ x 32″ backboard.

 $7900.00

Turbine and Grid – Tie inverter for 1 or 2 turbines – Option #4

This is the basic package for Grid-Tie applications where utility power is present and provides power outages circuit when needed. This system will handle power from a second hydro turbine for expansion. Includes one hydro turbine, SMA 3000 watt grid-tie inverter, disconnects, 3 phase rectifier, over current protection and lightning arrestor. Prewired and mounted on a 36″ x 32″ backboard.

Cross Flow Turbine Generator

Unlike most water turbines which have axial or radial flows, in a cross-flow turbine, water passes through the turbine transversely or across the turbine blades. As with the water wheel, the water is admitted at the turbine edge. After passing the runner, it  leaves on the opposite side. Going through the runner twice provide additional efficiency. When the water leaves the runner, it also helps cleans the runner of small debris and pollution. The cross-flow turbine is a low-speed machine that is well suited for locations with low head.

Advantages of Cross Flow turbines

  • Designed & Manufactured for years of maintenance free service
  • System runs 24/7—365 days a year in all weather conditions
  • Turbine housing constructed of heat treated aluminum with powder coated finish
  • Entire assembly made out of non-corrosive material
  • Bearings are double sealed permanently lubed stainless steel
  • The runner, shaft and fasteners are made from 300 series
  • stainless steel
  • Alternator is (permanent magnet) 3-phase AC direct drive with no gear box—increases reliability
  • High voltage AC output for long line transmission capability
  • 3-phase rectifier changes AC to DC for battery charging
  • Generator is rated at 1500 watts output, and capable of up to 2000 watts depending on installation conditions
Low Head Hydropower
  • Mostly used in Mini and Micro Hydropower production
  • Ideal for low head conditions as low as 20 feet of vertical drop
  • The flat efficiency curve yields better annual performance than other turbine systems
  • Excellent behavior with partial load or low stream flow
  • Well suited for unattended electricity production
  • Its construction makes it easier to maintain than other turbine types
  • There are only three rotating components
  • Almost no turbine noise
  • Self cleaning. No runner cleaning is necessary
  • No dam required-simple diversion up stream or any water source meeting requirements
